B2B intra-EU (reverse charge)

When you sell services to another VAT-registered business in the EU (and the client provides a valid VAT number), the transaction is typically reverse charge. You do not charge VAT; the client self-assesses VAT in their country. Invoicey applies this automatically when you enter a valid EU VAT number for a B2B client in another EU country.

B2C (consumers)

When selling to consumers (B2C), you charge VAT at the rate of the country where your customer is located. Invoicey uses the client's country to apply the correct rate.

Domestic (same country)

For clients in your own country, you charge domestic VAT at your country's standard rate (unless exempt or reduced-rate applies).

VAT rules vary by business type (B2B vs B2C), service vs goods, and country. When in doubt, consult your accountant or national tax authority. Invoicey provides the correct legal mentions and VAT treatment for standard scenarios.

For French businesses and freelancers, Invoicey supports SIREN (9 digits) and SIRET (14 digits) identifiers. These are required on invoices for French clients and for your own business details when you're based in France. The format is validated to ensure correct display on your invoices.

SIREN identifies your company; SIRET identifies each establishment. For most freelancers, one SIRET (which includes the SIREN) is sufficient. Invoicey displays both where appropriate for French legal compliance.

Invoice in EUR, GBP, USD, CHF, and other major currencies. Set a default currency in your company settings; you can override per invoice or per client. Totals and VAT amounts are calculated in the selected currency.

Schedule automated payment reminders before and after the due date. Pro and Pro+ plans include reminder emails so you don't have to chase clients manually. Reminders are sent from Invoicey with a professional tone and a link to view/pay the invoice.
